In the framework of improving understanding regarding procedure and funding mechanism of IDB, a Start Up Workshop should be conducted. It is expected that by the end of this workshop, the procedure and funding mechanism of IDB could be understood and comprehended. Start up Workshop Development and Upgrading of The State University of Jakarta (UNJ) Project, Under Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Finance Assistance, Number: IND – 129 & 130 were held for two days, August 19-20, 2009.
Background
- Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is one of several lenders that provide aids for development in Indonesia. As an Islamic institution it provides loan to Indonesian government based on Islamic Syari’ah principles.
- One of the implications of the Syari’ah practiced by IDB is by not providing credits on funding materials needed. Through this principle, IDB could conduct buying and selling or leasing.
- In practice, project funded by IDB possess several special characteristics, regulations and requirements, so it is important to deeply comprehend its management and implementation method.
- In the framework of improving understanding regarding procedure and funding mechanism of IDB, it is important that projects funded or to be funded by IDB, a Start Up Workshop should be conducted. It is expected that by the end of this workshop, the procedure and funding mechanism of IDB could be understood and comprehended.
Purposes and Objectives
The purposes and objectives of the Start up Workshop are:
- To improve understanding of PMU in managing project for related parties in implementing IDB projects, aid philosophy, regulations, requirements, and procedures in implementing IDB funds.
- To prepare project implementation plan in which includes activities, time, cost, and human resources.
- To define role and responsibilities of all related parties in the project activities.
- To identify problems and countered that might arise and provide solutions.
- To formulate recommendations for Project Management Unit to be more effective, efficient, practical and functional.
